MIRKO'S SAYS GOODBYE!
It is with a saddened heart that we tell you that Mirko's - A Taste of Europe has closed it's doors for good this past Sunday.
I would like to thank all of our loyal customers. You have been more than just guests to us; you've been friends and family. Jojo and I have tried hard to please all our guests and to give you something special to take and keep with you; a memory, a first time tasting, or just a feeling of being in Europe for a short time.
I have worked all over the world and am convinced that my concept of an ever changing restaurant can be a big success, but it needs a better location, better advertisement, and possibly a liquor license. Just imagine a German Week with a beer garden, a French Week with a wine tasting, a Sangria Bar for Spain, a whisky and scotch tasting for England, Ouzo shooters for Greek Week, specialty coffees for Switzerland and wine-lemoncello and martinis for Italy. I have many more ideas to make one or even several restaurants into something special.
Thanks to all of you, we were voted number one on Trip Advisor and other sites, and the comments on Facebook are very heartwarming. Jojo and I know we couldn't satisfy everyone, but we tried to serve everyone a hot, freshly prepared, great tasting meal, served by a friendly, educated staff, in a unique atmosphere in order to make you feel special. Believe me, it was a lot of work to change the specials and the restaurant to a new nationality every week, but I loved every moment of it because you all left smiling after every meal. There were endless words of encouragement, and everyone was wishing us the best, and hoped we would stay for a long time. We thank all of you for that. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
Please remember my name because I will try to stay in the area and find someone who would like to continue this great dream of an ethnic European eatery. If any of you knows of anyone that could use someone like me to partner or work with, please email me. Since I have a great following, it would be a great business opportunity for both parties. I would be very grateful for any help or leads, because I would be able to serve you again and stay in this area.
I would also like to offer my services to cater private functions, hold cooking classes, supply party food, or perhaps a romantic dinner for a loved one. Contact me on my website as I would welcome the opportunity to do something for my guests. I can work with any budget and menu.
Jojo and I, and the entire staff, are sad to close and feel as if we're leaving something very special unfinished. We will take great memories and a learning experience with us and will look back fondly on a great year. We would do it all again, because it was a pleasure serving you, talking with you, and getting to know you. Seeing you over and over and calling you a friend is what makes this so special and a memory to keep for life.
I hope to one day see you all again and to once again prepare great food for you.
